The Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC) invites applications for a National Project Coordinator to assemble and facilitate a limited-duration task force to identify nationally-applicable regulations, risks-of-concern, and best practices related to the application of pesticides using Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and/or drone technologies. The task force will determine what type of educational material(s) would be most widely adopted by states/tribes/territories with certification authority, and the essential content/training points that should be included. The National Project Coordinator will recruit and facilitate the task force, work with PERC staff to develop the prioritized educational material(s), collect and incorporate feedback from key stakeholders, and complete a final report. The Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC) is seeking applications for Agricultural Community-Based Projects (AgCBP) that will serve farmworkers, agricultural pesticide handlers, their families, and/or their communities by contributing to the safe use of pesticides and/or working safely in areas where pesticides are used.
The PERC Advisory Board will select up to six projects to be funded by August of 2024, pending amounts requested by successful applicants. Successful applicants will have up to two years to complete their projects (no later than July 31, 2026). Identical projects will not be funded more than once but could be considered if the same project addresses a different target audience or subject matter focus.

Project Coordinator and Lead Writer for WPS Inspectors - Building Bridges: Overcoming Cultural and Language Barriers During WPS Inspections. The Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC) invites applications for a Project Coordinator and Lead Writer to recruit a national team of paid and volunteer contributors. The team will create a pair of resources for English-speaking WPS inspectors to assist them while interviewing Spanish-speaking agricultural workers during WPS inspections. An interviewing guide and flipchart are anticipated for release in 2024. The pieces will serve to replace the 2007 EPA Breaking Barriers document (EPA 305-K-07-002) and its accompanying flipchart (EPA 305-E-07-002).
