Application Exclusion Zone (AEZ)

The “Application Exclusion Zone” or AEZ is a new term used in the WPS rule and refers to the area surrounding the pesticide application equipment that must be free of all persons other than appropriately trained and equipped handlers during pesticide applications.

The following animations were approved by the US EPA, and demonstrate how the AEZ moves with the application equipment. For more information, see the Worker Protection Standard Application Exclusion Zone Requirements: Question and Answer Fact Sheet (PDF)
